It’s been almost six years since an idea popped into my head and I felt compelled to turn that vision into reality. It’s been an amazing journey so far, so I thought that I would share some of what I’ve learned.

1. Passion — You’ve got to love your idea and believe that it can really transform the community.   You’ll want to tell the world about it and share your excitement with anyone who will listen.  That passion is contagious and a key ingredient for success.

Beth Finder, WGF Alum (Class 10), founded Jewish Without Walls (JWOW) five years ago as a way to bring young families together across denominations and affiliations in vibrant Jewish communities.  JWOW was selected by Slingshot for two years in a row as one of the most innovative Jewish organizations in North America.  Before launching JWOW, Beth worked as a Communal Education Consultant at The Jewish Education Project and at the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan, the Jewish Community Center of Tidewater, the Hillel at Columbia University and at Brooklyn College Hillel.  She earned her Master's Degree in Judaic Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary and a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University.
