Matthew Weintraub is the Executive Director of Valley Beth Shalom in Encino, CA, one of the largest Conservative synagogues in the country. Prior to VBS, Matthew served as the Associate Executive Director of IKAR, a progressive, social justice-focused Jewish spiritual community in Los Angeles. Matthew previously served as Director of Marketing and Communications at Temple Aliyah and Shalhevet High School, and Director of Talent Development at Professional Leaders Project. Prior to transitioning to the nonprofit sector, Matthew held positions at Cornerstone OnDemand (software), Loeb & Loeb (law firm) and Bragman Nyman Cafarelli (PR). He's been involved as a lay leader in the Jewish community, specifically focusing his time and efforts on Jewish education, Jewish camping, and social and economic justice issues. Matthew is an alumnus of the Progressive Jewish Alliance's Jeremiah Fellowship. Matthew recently served on BJE’s NextGen and Marketing Visibility committees, and as a board member for the IBD Support Foundation. Matthew received an MBA from the Graduate School of Non-Profit Management at American Jewish University with a focus in Social Entrepreneurship, and a B.S. in Business from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife LeeAnn, a registered dietitian, and his two wonderful children Noah and Madeleine.
