Class Meetings

This year at Alumni Institute, we are experimenting with new ways to include alumni who are unable to join us at Institute. During class meetings on Sunday, February 17, 8:00 -9:00pm EST, we will use Zoom to “bring” alumni into a shared space. Alumni will have the opportunity to follow a link and participate in their class meetings with classmates that are on the ground at Alumni Institute.

To log in FROM YOUR COMPUTER (IDEAL)

  • Click on this link: https://zoom.us/j/489576185
  •  This will take you to the Zoom “Meeting Room”. Make sure that your volume is on and video working. If this is the first time you are using Zoom, you may want to give yourself some extra time (5-10 minutes) to test out.

  • When you log in, enter your name and class number (numeral) in this format:
    Stefanie Zelkind, Class 16

  • Once in the Meeting Room, Stefanie will set the stage for class meetings. You will then be transferred into another meeting room for your class only.

To log in FROM YOUR SMART PHONE

  • If you want to join by video, you will need to download the Zoom App on your smartphone before joining the Class Meeting. Once it’s downloaded, click on this link: https://zoom.us/j/489576185

    Stefanie Zelkind, Class 16

  • Once in the Meeting Room, Stefanie will set the stage for class meetings. You will then be transferred into another meeting room for your class only.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

  • What is the best way to Zoom?
We encourage you to use a laptop rather than a phone. No additional downloads are needed. However, laptop, smart phone and regular phones work!

  • Do I need to have a video camera?
No. If you have a video camera set up on your computer or phone, you and your classmates will be able to see each other (as well as hear each other). If you don’t have a camera, no problem! Just call in and it’ll feel like a regular conference call.

  • When should I log in?
Please be logged in by 7:55 pm Eastern for our prompt start at 8:00 pm Eastern.

  • Can more than one person per class at Princeton log in?
Yes! Each participant can log in on their own device if they would like, but be aware of audio feedback.
