Fred Zeidman, (Houston, TX) Chairman Emeritus of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council was appointed by President George W. Bush in March 2002 and served in that position for nine years. A prominent Houston-based business and civic leader, Mr. Zeidman also is Chairman Emeritus of the University of Texas Health Science System and the Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR). He further serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the University of Saint Thomas and chairs its Development Committee and Houston Community College. Mr. Zeidman currently serves as Chairman of the Board of PetroFlow Energy, Petro River Oil, and as a director of Hyperdynamics Corp and Prosperity Bank in Houston. He also serves as Board of Trustee and Member of the Executive Committee of the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. Mr. Zeidman is National Chairman of Israel Bonds, member of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Jewish National Fund, (JNF) and on the Board of American Friends of Yad Vashem, Vice Chairman of the Republican Jewish Coalition, and has played a leadership role in many other organizations.
