We are excited to roll out three regional gatherings for Wexner Graduate Fellowship/Davidson Scholars Program classes 1-31 and Wexner Field Fellows Classes 1-3.

For alumni who live outside of these Wexner hubs, there are options to travel to a regional gathering and/or to plan one in your community; see below for details.

BE SURE TO REGISTER BY THE DEADLINES!

  • April 27, 12-5pm - New York City @ JCC Manhattan - Register by April 1
  • May 10, 12-5pm - Los Angeles @ Valley Beth Shalom - Register by April 22
  • June 16, 12-5pm - Chicago @ Anshe Emet Synagogue - Register by June 3

WHAT’S THE SCHEDULE?

Each regional gathering will include a round of alumni-led electives, a forward-looking program on Jewish leadership, remarks from our President, Rabbi Elka Abrahamson, and ample time for schmoozing. A detailed schedule will be shared with participants closer to the event.

CAN I PARTICIPATE IN MORE THAN ONE REGIONAL GATHERING?

Alumni may participate in some or all regional gatherings. Please note that The Wexner Foundation will subsidize travel for only one gathering per alum.

For alumni who live within 200 miles of a gathering location, travel expenses (including mileage, parking and tolls) are the responsibility of the participant.

For alumni who live more than 200 miles from a gathering location, The Wexner Foundation will reimburse up to $200 towards the costs of long-distance transportation.

  • To be reimbursed for a flight or Amtrak, alumni must submit an expense form and receipt of purchase for the flight/train ticket.
  • To be reimbursed for mileage, alumni must submit documentation of route (via Google Maps or from a similar site) showing mileage along with a completed expense form.
  • Reimbursements will be handled after the regional gathering.
  • Note: Alumni are responsible for all other expenses, including luggage fees and local travel expenses.

Should you choose to travel to a regional gathering, please note that you are doing so with the understanding that if you were to test positive for COVID during the gathering, you may need to extend your stay before being able to return home via public transportation. Any incidental costs will be at your own expense.

WHAT IF I LIVE OUTSIDE OF LA/NY/CHICAGO?

Alumni who live far from the cities where we'll be holding regional gatherings have two opportunities to connect with fellow alumni:

  1. You may travel to any of the regional gatherings being organized by the Foundation. See "Can I Participate in More Than One Regional Gathering?" for further details.
  2. You may organize a gathering in your region. WexCoComm will support additional alumni-planned regional gatherings by reimbursing some expenses. For more information, contact WexCoComm members Sari Laufer (WGF/DS Class 14) slaufer@wisela.org and Jon Spira-Savett (WGF/DS Class 3) spirasavett@yahoo.com for further details.

WILL THERE BE A HYBRID OPTION?

These are in-person gatherings; there will not be a hybrid participation option. That said, we hope you’ll join the WAVE 2.0, an online alumni gathering being planned “for alumni, by alumni” on May 11-12. Register here.

MAY I BRING MY NURSING INFANT AND A CAREGIVER?

Given the short nature of the program, regional gatherings are limited to alumni only (but please bring pictures of your babies to share!).

IS THERE A REGISTRATION FEE?

There is no registration fee for the 2022 Alumni Gatherings.

WHAT ARE THE COVID POLICIES AND SAFETY MEASURES?

The Wexner Foundation requires all members, fellows, faculty and staff over 18 years of age attending in-person events and institutes to be fully vaccinated and boostered as eligible against COVID-19 with any of the vaccines currently authorized for use in the United States. The US CDC guidance on vaccine boosters defines eligibility for individuals over the age of 18 as follows: those who received their second Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine dose at least six months ago, or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson shot at least two months ago, are eligible to get a vaccine booster. All participants will be required to upload their vaccine cards during the registration process.

We continue to consult with our medical advisor and COVID Task Force regarding safety measures and follow all state and local regulations for each of the gatherings.

Please see our COVID policies and protocols here, developed by our medical advisor and COVID Task Force and subject to change.
