Merri is Professor of Practice in Liturgical Arts and Music Education at the rabbinic and cantorial schools of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York, is a long-standing faculty member for Hava Nashira and the National Jewish Choral Festival, served as Director of Music for Synagogue 2000 and has written extensively about the use of music in creating sacred community.
