Calgary, Edmonton, Hamilton, Ottawa, Winnipeg

For the first time in the forty-year history of the Wexner Heritage Program, we are creating a cohort that combines representatives from five distinct communities: Calgary, Edmonton, Hamilton, Ottawa, and Winnipeg. This cohort will follow the intensity and collaborative nature that are the hallmarks of the Wexner Heritage Program, with some programmatic innovations to our “standard” cohorts.

Institutes
Members will participate in three out-of-town Summer Institutes, each 5-7 days in length, that are held in resort conference centers in the United States and Israel. Institutes take place at the beginning, middle and end of the two-year program.

Zoom Seminars
Over the course of their two years in the program, Wexner Heritage Program Canadian Cohort Members will attend 28 evening seminars that meet on Zoom and are held approximately twice a month, for an intensive three hours.

Intensive Seminars
While Zoom provides a helpful format for learning and bringing the group together, nothing substitutes in person gatherings. The Canadian Cohort Members will gather four additional times throughout their two-year experience for approximately 48 hours. The two-day gatherings will most likely take place in May 2026, December 2026, Winter 2027, and Spring 2028.

The Wexner Heritage Program is a focused experience that requires significant commitment of time and energy from each participant. Attendance at all Seminars and Institutes is critical. There is reading and other preparation for each session as well.

Curriculum
The program is designed to deeply immerse current and up-and-coming Jewish lay leaders in the text, thought, and leadership challenges of the Jewish People. The dynamic curriculum is grounded in the wisdom of our tradition and in cutting-edge leadership learning. Seminars and Institutes reflect the following curricular components: YesodotJewish Fundamentals, The History of the Jewish People, The Thought of the Jewish People, Leadership Learning, Contemporary Issues. More information on each of these curricular areas can be found on our main Wexner Heritage Program page.
