  • Has completed an SLC application

Application (SLC)

The application will include basic info and several essay questions (listed below).

1. Your WSC Experience

Describe an “Ah-ha!” moment you had during your year as a WSC member. How was it transformative for you? (This moment could be related to: service work, interactions with others, relationships formed, learning, etc.)

2. Your Response To Text

“(Rabbi Yohanan ben Zakkai) said: Go out and see which is a good path, to which a person should cling.

Rabbi Eliezer said: A good eye.

Rabbi Yehoshua said: A good friend.

Rabbi Yosei said: A good neighbor.

Rabbi Shimon said: The ability to see what the future will yet bring.

Rabbi Elazar said: A good heart.” (Pirkei Avot 2:13)

Based on the text above, answer the 3 questions below. Challenge yourself to think differently and consider different paths for each answer.

1. Which path do you feel guides your life? Please explain.

2. If you’re invited to be part of SLC, which path would you encourage fellow WSC members to follow to best shape their Service Corps experience? Please explain.

3. As a future world leader, if you could convince the entire world to follow a single path, which would you tell them to follow? Please explain.

3. Video Response- Becoming A Role Model

In a short, 60- second video, teach us something! It can be serious, silly, or random (a life hack, a belief, how to make the perfect playlist, a rule they live by, etc). This is not about being polished or impressive. We’re excited to see your personality, your perspective, and how you show up in the world. Be yourself!
