The Wexner Foundation will host a webinar exclusively for our constituents

Thursday, Feb 6th, 2pm ET

“What Do We Think About Jewish Men?”

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

with Rabbi Daniel Brenner of Moving Traditions, who is leading a national effort to train a cadre of educators and mentors to connect the ethical insights of Jewish life to the challenges facing today’s teen boys.

We will address the growing phenomenon that non-orthodox Jewish men are becoming less engaged in Jewish organizational life, some say disappearing. Looking at 3,000 years of Jewish masculinity, Rabbi Brenner will help us consider how our understanding of gender has changed and how new gender dynamics are playing out in modern North American Jewish life. He will give participants a taste of the kind of curriculum he is developing to recapture the imaginations of adolescent and teenage boys. The webinar will be open to your questions as well, and will run approximately 45 minutes.

The Wexner Foundation will also be running an in-person version of this webinar in the New York City office as a Lunch and Learn (to RSVP, see details below). Both the NY Lunch and Learn and the webinar are being held in honor of 9 Adar, The Jewish Day of Constructive Conflict. Gender issues have long been a source of conflict in society and we felt it was an auspicious day to confront one of the many recent challenges to our thinking about gender in the Jewish world.
